Will of John Wright, Stokes Co NC, Will Book 3, Page 314:
n the name of God Amen,
I John Wright of Stokes County in the State of North Carolina being
of sound & perfect mind & memory blessed be God do this 17th day of May
in the year of our Lord 1832 make & publish this my last will and
testament in manner following, that is to say:
First. I Give & bequeath to my beloved daughter Isabella one half
of that track (sic) of Land called Hickmans place & two cows & calves
two beds & furniture her choice of the horses, the third of the
grain & the third of the kitchen furniture & her chest & bureau
and all belonging to them & three hogs & two sheep her choice.
Secondly. I leave to my beloved son Joseph A. the other half of the
Hickmans tract of Land -
Thirdly - The balance of the perishable part of my Estates to be sold
on a cridit (sic) of twelve months & the producks (sic) of the sale to be
equally divided among the rest of my children with the
balance of my Land which is to be laid off in equal lots
& valued by two men chosen by the executors & thus the five
following children draw an equal part, namely, my beloved
daughter Nancy Larimore's bodily heirs is to draw her part
my beloved son James T. my beloved daughter Margarets bodily
heirs is to draw her part, my beloved son John F. my beloved
daughter Mary McAnally.
And I hereby make & ordain my worthy friends James
T. Wright & Jesse McAnally Executors of this my last will
& testament. In witness whereof I the said John Wright Senr.
have to this my last will & testament set my hand & seal

The Execution of the last will & testament of John Wright dec'd,
of which the foregoing is a true copy was duly proved in open
